An Old Door in the Corner

I plucked this old door out of the "forest" on the country place.

I wanted to make a headboard out of it, but hubby said,  "What?"

I'm thinking of slipcovering the couch with this bedspread I practically got for free.  Do I have any yes votes?

THIS couch.  Yes, anything would help it.  But the SHAPE is what sucked me in.
