I WON.......

....$25. My bank called a few afternoons ago. Could this turn out good? "Jean?", I say, "This is she."....."We've drawn your name to pick one of the gift envelopes on our tree, so stop in and pick one out." So the next day I went down uh, to deposit, well.....uh........$25. Keeping my account on the proper side of -0-, ya know. And lo and behold, I drew an envelope with $25 in 'chamber bucks'......"They spend like cash." .....funny thing is, I don't remember putting my name in any drawing.......so if YOU did, thanks! I needed that. I felt blessed.

happy birthday to me

Monday the tenth was my birthday and my mother came over with cake. Not one cake, but two. We ate cake until I felt like rolling around. It is nice to be thought of though. She enjoyed baking them I think. Boston Cream "Pie" and a chocolate bundt cake that had root beer in it, though I could not taste it. So, I'm a year older- 3_. Other than that, a lot of painting and scraping has been going on around here this week. This cookbook here was one of my gifts. There will never be a shortage of CAKE!
