Ethel Barrett does it again.

This quote is from Master of Mystery and Dreams, Daniel

"Yes, Nebuchadnezzar laid siege to Jerusalem. His armies completely surrounded it!.........'He'll demand more tribute,' his father said gravely, and his father and mother exchanged troubled glances, quickly, but not before Daniel saw..........He felt like a man, ready for whatever was ahead.........And then there came the banging on the door. Daniel never forgot that banging on the door. Or his father's face. Or his mother's tears. Or the rude soldiers ordering him out. They never towed me away, he thought afterward. I walked out - like a man. ...........It was as his father had told him. Nebuchadnezzar wanted the "young" brains............"

You get the picture. We read another of Ethel Barrett's series on the heroes of the Bible. Once again, she has a way of bringing things to life. I think I'm going to be able to collect the rest of the set for a reasonable price! yay!
